For a few years now, in the absence of official rankings from the IIHF, I have been creating the World Junior Rankings based on the same calculation method they use for the senior squad.

Below are the rankings after the 2013 tournament, along with their positional changes from 2012:

• Sweden remains at top spot for the second year in a row!
• United Arab Emirates entered the rankings for the first time. They actually ended up forfeiting all of their games, but since they were in Division III and were classified as finishing last, they have been included for completeness.
• North Korea and Chinese Taipei did not take part this year.
• The biggest mover was Australia of Division IIB, going from 36th to 33rd.
• The biggest faller was Mexico of Division III, going from 33rd to 36th.
