Do you want to make that an actual bet? I could use a friendly wager.

Sure. What kind would you like?

I'd have to disagree. The way Jake skates, creates opportunities and playing with Giroux, he's bound to have another great season. Plus playing on the top power play unit which was close to number one this season, I don't think he'll do anything short of great.

A player with a career 10,4% shooting percentage is unlikely to turn into a 17.1% shooter. There will more than likely be a reversion to the mean.

You're right he probably won't keep up 17.1% shooting, but this season he shot more per game than previous seasons, which is why he scored more. He just needs to shoot more instead of trying to always thread the needle, which he's already good at.

I don't know, loser has to adopt some kind embarrassing signature or avatar? Maybe a Penguins logo for a few months...God forbid lol. I also don't think I was specific enough. I don't think he'll keep up the exact pace he had this year and have 92 points next year, but I certainly think he'll break his previous career high. Wanna say...75 points? Or is that too low?

I think the Carter trade turned out well because Couturier fell to their spot, but Jake is not a top 10 player in the league after a career year in a strike shortened season. I'd wager anything he won't repeat it next season.

I do not think Cooter is the only reason the Carter trade worked out well. Cousins could be something decent for this team down the road as well.

As far as Jake, I think Jake is something good now and will be for awhile, especially on the top line with G. I believe that top line if they can get someone on the left side who is a presence(prefferably big and can shoot) he can get some big numbers. I feel he will get more comfortable on the right1/2 board on the PP next season and possibly be the mirror image of G from a threat perspective, possibly netting 30 goals next season. If Hartsy shows up next season and can play the way he did in 2011-12 there will be even more space for both G and Jake the Snake(as my 7yo girl calls him) to work.

With Richie's deal, I have been a backer of Simmer and BSchenn, and ATM I am still on the fence with this deal. Because I love how Simmer is developing into a top notch PP force. He may not be great as a 5v5 player and this is why I am on the fence. Jumping off the fence to either side resides on BSchenn's play next season for me, if he turns it on next season and plays like a 2nd line center and nets 65-75 points with spurts of leadership, than the deal will be justified.

Haha that's funny. Although the reason I think people voted for Simmonds instead of Malkin is because otherwise, it would be racist.  :D

You'd think he would have loved it in Manitoba. We have the closest thing to a Communist government you'll find in NA.

this is the bed that Holmgren has made...too bad the fans are the ones that have to lie in it and he'll still keep his job and not be accountable at all

after watching toronto blowing a 4-1 lead against boston in the third, it proves that old players on defense isnt a great idea, i hope that the flyers do go younger on defense and get rid of the old timers on the flyers d and go with the phantom players, they seem to want to play why not?

Well worth trading Richards and Carter, the so-called "bad seeds," to make the room for this guy. Never a headache and definitely didn't close the Flyers' window of opportunity to win a Cup for the immediate future to get him either. Overall, great pick-up by Holmgren! Really did his homework!
